NC new boating law
Starting may 1 2010 folks under 26 must have completed Boater Education test and carry a card to run a boat with a motor over 10Hp.

I have seen some folks on different lakes that should have been required to take some sort of test before they turned the key.

I like the new law. It definitely gives us extra assurance knowing that folks operating boats know what they're doing.

I like the new law also, but it still doesn't eliminate people who are so drunk they can't stand from operating boats : (

I'm afraid that goes to too few Coast Guard patrols for too many bodies of water. I have seen a few water pull overs and subsequent DUI's. Not as many as they could be. I'm glad it cover jet-skis.
