We went up another blue line in the back country today, hiking up about 3 hours, jumping rocks and fighting rhodo. But man, it was worth it! We fished so many great deep pools, had a lot of strikes, and generally fished a lot better than last time out. My son Andrew (Roll Cast) had a lot of strikes, and 3 LDR's. One, he brought all the way up out of the water to have it release as he was bringing it to the bank. In one really nice pool, I tried to apply all the great advice you guys have given me and I managed my first wild brookie! It as about 6-7 inches but so pretty. As you can see by the second picture, I caught this beauty using Andrew's dry greenie weenie that he tied himself! In fact, most of our strikes and LDR's were on his fly, so even though he did not bring one to hand, he was still very happy and excited to see one caught on a fly he imagined and tied. Thanks again for all the advice from this forum and a special thank you to Tyler! I may have to change my name from hookedontrout to hookedonbrooks!
