Holston River 12/11
My buddy Rod and I decided we needed to do some fishing before the snowy weather hit and the highs were gonna be in the 50's so we opted for the closest fishable water.
We headed up to the Holston below Cherokee Dam for a few hours. We didn't set the river on fire, but both brought some nice fish to hand. There was a good hatch around 2pm and fish were rising everywhere. It didn't take too long for a chunky bow to take my midge dry. I had been stalking this one for quite some time before I finally put a good drift over his head and he gulped my fly. It was a rewarding feeling since I nearly went swimming trying to get in position to get to this fish.
Overall it was great to get out and satisfy my itch to go fishing. I have not been out since an early November trip to the Davidson.
