Smith River 2/21 Empty Smith River 2/21

With the nice weather and break in the generation schedule I felt like I had no other choice than to fish the Smith today. I got to the mirror factory around 9...already 2 cars in the parking area. A couple guys were walking down the tracks, so I just stuck to the strech directly behind the factory. The fish weren't as willing as I would have liked, but the final tally ended up around 5 or 6. All fish were caught on a midge dropped off a pt.

Nice fish! I am fairly familiar with that stretch of water behind the mirror plant. It can be a very frustrating piece of water to catch trout on. I have been told by some experienced folks that if you can catch fish on the Smith then you can catch them anywhere. I wished I could have hit up there while the generation was off for a while.

looks like a great place to wet a line. I have not been there yet but have a friend who guides on it and is always asking me to come up there.

I've never fished the Smith before. I've heard great things about it as well. Hopefully I will be able to get up that way soon to explore a little.
