Adams Dry Fly Empty Adams Dry Fly

I thought I would try something a little harder today when I started digging through my tying supplies. I figured a 14 Adams Dry Fly might be a challenge. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be but it is rough! I am getting better at feather and thread but I made some errors on this fly. The wings are mounted behind the midpoint which made the thorax too short and the head too long. The hear is too thin and sparse. I think the hackles too long but I haven't figured out the hackle gauge yet. Good first try I guess. Heck! I would still fish with it.
