I might do some fishing up in VA over Spring Break. Who else is going after them?
Re: Who's going After Them?
I just got off the Mitchell yesterday. Seems like everyone I talked to had a good day. I didnt catch a lot but I dont think I caught one under fourteen or fifteen inches. Im in gear up mode now though I leave next friday for NY I cant wait to get back on the stream with my dad... and catch some huge steelhead of course.

Re: Who's going After Them?
My last shift at work is tonight. If I can make it through then I am off for a week of fishing. We are probably going to make a tour of the popular DH water in Western NC. Davidson, Tuckasegee, Wilson Creek, and Helton Creek. Maybe a blue line or two if the DH gets too crowded. Looks like the weather is going to be awesome.... maybe too awesome. I am not ready for 80-90 degree weather so soon.
Hope VA is kind to you. We discussed sneaking over the border later in the week.
Steelhead sounds cool! Good luck!

Lance,
What did you catch the fish on? I fished the Mitchell on Thursday about the middle of Grover Cockerham Road and had few fish come up to the Adams I was fishing. There were flies everywhere but I saw few fish coming up to take them.

Re: Who's going After Them?
Hey Greg,
Well I was changing flies quite a bit trying to figure out what they where rising to (which I never did). I was deep drifting a big hole. We caught ours on a selection of bh pheasant tails, red copper johns, and midges. I talked to a coupe guys who actually fished the section you did and they where doing well on red copper johns and darker caddis pupas. I heard that they were having luck in the faster runs. I think the morning is a great time up there right now but that evening I would have killed for a light klinkhammer (I only had dark green) Cream colored caddises where flying by me by the dozen just before dark.
