Fly Tying Contest Empty Fly Tying Contest

Post by Tyler Fri Aug 27, 2010 6:17 pm

How about picking up where we left off? Who's with me? I've resolved my camera issues that restrained me from participating earlier in the year. Cool

Here's the low down for anyone that is new to the contest.

1.) It's a friendly, "contest" open for all fly tyers, from beginners to advanced tyers. No prizes are won, but it's a great way to show off a fly and receive critiques, tips, suggestions, likes, and the such.

2.) We will take open suggestions a day or two in advance. I'll put those suggestions into a poll and we'll vote. If you would like, feel free to shoot me a PM with suggestions on a fly you would like to see tied.

3.) What day of the week works best for everyone? Doesn't matter for me.

Yeah, that's what we were doing in the first place. Worked out pretty well. Sounds good to me...

Looking forward to seeing the prompt. I've been tying one type a lot this summer. Be good for me to get out of the box I get into from time to time.

Let's go ahead and dive into it! Does the same schedule work with everyone? Weekend deal? Start Friday afternoon/evening end around 7 or 8 PM Monday evening?

Also, start throwing out some suggestions. Anything from dries to nymphs to warmwater.

I was thinking we could do summer flies like terrestrials and incworms to show what we've done over the summer

That would be convenient. I can only tie tonight. Off the grid for the next few days.
