Week 26... Fox Squirrel Nymph...

The Fox Squirrel Nymph is one great fly. One of my favorites. Anything from trout to bluegill to smallies can be targeted with the FS Nymph.

Hook: #8 Nymph
Bead: Brass
Tail: Olive dyed hackle scrap
Body: Olive Hares Ear
Rib: Gold holographic
Collar: Olive dyed squirrel zonker
Legs: Brown square legs.

I had to do a lot of improvising this week, but it turned ok.



Hook: #16 Orvis Standard Nymph
Thread: 12/0 Orvis brown
Tail: Natural comparadun hair
Abdomen: Blended amber and light cahill dubbing
Thorax: Natural hare's ear dubbing
Hackle: #16 brown

I like fishing these on a curved hook with a bead mostly.

Improvised as well. Came out well though.

Abdomen: Sulphur colored dubbing
Thorax: Hare's ear dubbing
