Hello from the Sunflower State
Nice forum. I wish that I would have found this site before my trip to Western North Carolina. A little bit about myself. Right now I'm living in Wichita, Kansas retired working part time. In a few years Im planning to settle in the Bevard area. My wife and I visited there for our summer vacation this past June and fell in love the place. Of course fly fishing for trout was on the top of my things to do list while there and managed to even catch a few. What a great state with so many streams it was hard to pick on which one to try. With all the scouting that I did I fished the Davidson and the E Fork of the French Broad. Caught trout in both rivers. It was refreshing to be able to fish some real trout streams.
Yes we have trout fishing here in Kansas. Most of it takes place in the winter with stocked fish in small steams (ditches), lakes and ponds. Most of the summer months we are fishing for Bass, Carp and Bluegill.
I have been a avid fly fisherman for over 30 years, a tier and rod builder. Im looking forward to reading more post on this site and maybe contribute some of my knowledge that I have learned over the years.
