Week 6....Black Caddis...
This week's fly is the black caddis (dry or wet). Although, if you would rather tie the Prince Nymph, which came in second place on the poll, that's perfectly fine.

Legg's Realistic Black Caddis
Hook: Mustad 6068 (Caddis/scud hook)
Body: Lead around shank and then black dubbing and a black strip of foam on top for the shell.
Wing: Black marabou w/ cement to compact fibers together.
Legs: Moose mane crimped to imitate legs.
Camera's still not taking clear, close-up shots of flies. I pulled this picture from the computer.

Re: Week 6....Black Caddis...
I like the idea of using Tyvek house wrap for wings. Great black caddis!! Would definitely be an excellent slow water caddis for picky fish.
The only suggestion I can give you: try clipping the bottom hackle, allowing the fly to sit flat on the water...

Re: Week 6....Black Caddis...
It rides right side up (Unless there's turbulent water). The foam creates tiny air bubbles that help keep the fly upright.
