We went to Dobson to visit the in-laws. While they were at church this morning we went over to the Mitchell for a few hours. Caught a reasonable number of fish. Most on Buggers and Bugger Dropper rig. About the last hour a nice mayfly hatch happened. Caught some pretty eager candidates on top. To the fish they were all brookies. Not sure about that. Hardly no one else fishing. That surprised us.
My wife took these while I was putting my gear away. She was wondering what the flowers were called. I hadn't a clue. Experts please

Very nice!! Glad you were able to fish the Mitchell before DH season comes to a close in 2 weeks. I'm gonna hate to see it go until October.

Looks like a pretty nice size brookie. The flowers are definitely Trilliums, note the "tri" in the name and the 3 petals on the flowers. Not sure exactly which Trillium, there are several. Great macro shots btw.

Gonna miss the DH streams This has been a slow year so far for me and fishing. Family emergencies and bad weather. Guess the ponds and smallie river will get some more attention. Maybe find my way to the tailwater a couple of trips.
