Looking for bugs on the bottom
I have always wanted to take some window screen and pan some dirt from the stream to see what all is crawling in it. Anyone ever done this?
Re: Looking for bugs on the bottom
Actually I have John, I used to attend and then help teach a summer biology camp. This was more pond waters though. I would love to do this a healthy trout stream. There is nothing like having a specimen on had to pattern your flies after.
p.s. Yes I had several bug collections. lol

All you have to do is take some screen and attach two pieces of wood on each side of the screen. You can even use a fine mesh landing net to catch bugs in the air or in the water...

I've seen that with some window screen and a couple of 2x2s think I'm gonna start paying closer attention to this.

I was thinking about getting one of these Quick Seine thingys.
How to use the Quick Seine.
Make my net useful for something because it sure doesn't get to land many fish.
