Davidson River Empty Davidson River

How does the D look right now? Flows? I know NC got a lot of rain lately like we did in ETN.

All our tailwaters are blown out so I've been pondering a trip to the D.

Any info is appreciated... THX

Haven't fished the D in a few weeks, but conditions look fine. Water levels are still above normal, the D is at 220 cfs, median is 141 cfs. It's gradually going down with time. Should be back to normal pretty soon. Bottom line is, judging by the USGS water flows, it's fishable!

Buddy of mine said he had a bad case of cabin fever and mentioned he was going to hit the Davidson sometime this week. He wasn't in class today, so I'm assuming he was out on the D. I'll have to ask him how he did and what the conditions look like.

Thanks Tyler.

let me know if your buddy made it out there.

Also, don't forget I still owe you a trip around the Clinch for helping Rod and I out late last year.

I fished the East Fork of the French Broad yesterday -- flow rates (% of median) for it and the Davidson where/are just about the same. East Fork was very 'fish-able' and the only problem I had was the number of people out fishing it. I did manage to find a spot and landed four trout all of which were on the smallish side, perhaps 10 to 12 inches.

He didn't make it over there Wednesday, but conditions look great on the D nonetheless. The water will continue to recede (currently at 184 cfs). Slowly heading back to normal flows (130's). Definitely very much fishable! Have it it!
