Re: Week 27... Trash Flies..
You better believe I'm trying it! Between getting ready for the break and now out of town for a few days, wasn't able to sit down and tie. Fully anticipating sitting down at the bench for a good, long tying session early next week! I've got some ideas I want to try...
Re: Week 27... Trash Flies..
Finally got home after a few days in VA. Haven't had the chance to sit down at the tying bench until tonight.
Here's my trash fly. Simplistic, but it should work well. Especially during heavy rains (which we've seen plenty of this spring).
It's a rubber band wound around a #14 curved shank hook and colored brown. Not much else. A rubber band, while a bit thicker, is similar to Nymph Skin. Creates great segmentation.
'Scuse me while I go crank out some more bugs!

Brad- That has got to be one of the most creative flies I've ever seen. Incredible! That woven body is awesome! Looks real!
Re: Week 27... Trash Flies..
The boot lace body was in a magazine article I can't remember which. But they had some cool flies. I need to work on it a lot before I feel like I've mastered it.
That rubber band worm will catch the hound out the fish. Really cool. Be a great guest tie for Trash Flies if your interested?

I bet you'd have a field day on a wild stream on a summer evening. The yellow sallies can produce some spectacular fishing.
I'd be honored to do one! Shoot me a PM when you can.
